~ 20 Cogs Reviews ~
Intro
20 Cogs got my attention because I kept seeing it mentioned on social media, people were sharing links to it, and others were asking if it was worth joining. This got me interested enough to check it out for myself and write a review.
There are stacks of ways to make some money online these days. Some are good and some aren’t. However, if you focus on the stuff that’s worthwhile, you can make an awesome living entirely online.
This website of mine is mainly focused on reviewing products and training platforms that are designed to help people make money. I do this so we all know what’s worth it and what to avoid.
Unfortunately there are a lot of scams out there when it comes to make money online (MMO) products, so we all have to be wise.
That’s why I’m happy to see you here reading this review, as it shows you look into things before joining them. You are far less likely to ever fall for a scam that way.
Let’s see how 20 Cogs fares in the worth it or not stakes.

What Is 20 Cogs?
20 Cogs is all about making a little bit of extra money in your spare time. It’s based in the United Kingdom and is essentially a rewards site kind of like Swagbucks and others. The idea is you perform a variety of rather mundane and simple tasks and earn small rewards in the process.
It’s also a platform that’s completely free to join, so there’s nothing at all to risk by signing up and giving it a go.
One of the main claims 20 Cogs make is that it’s easy to make money online with their platform. They are actually telling you the truth when they say this. You just won’t make much money though, but it is easy.
The main focus of 20 Cogs is completing offers, such as signing up for free trials of services and the like, for which 20 Cogs will give you a reward.
The “COGS” part of the site name actually stands for Competitions – Offers – Games – Surveys.
The number “20” relates to the fact that when you first join you’ll have 20 cogs that are locked and you’ll have to unlock them to progress. I’ll explain more about that in a moment.
Basically 20 Cogs gets paid by advertisers and they pass on some of that revenue to members when they perform tasks and complete offers.
You won’t make much money with this, so if you are looking for something that can make a decent online income, give affiliate marketing a try. It’s easy when you follow the Wealthy Affiliate training. You can join totally FREE!
How 20 Cogs Works
The first thing you need to do is sign up for a free account. This process is very straightforward.
Although based in the UK, 20 Cogs isn’t limited to UK residents. It’s open to everyone across the world.
Once you’ve officially joined and created your free account, your rewards balance will immediately get credited with £1.00. Nothing huge, but at least it’s a start.
Down the left hand side of the screen you’ll see a menu that displays your current account balance. In this menu you’ll also see the 20 locked cogs that you have to unlock. These cogs can only be unlocked one at a time.
Also upon sign up you’ll immediately be given a choice of 3 offers you can complete. You choose one of the 3, and once you complete the offer you’ll receive your first cog.
The offer might be something like a free Netflix trial, or to complete a survey or something. It varies.
Some offers include:
- Free trials
- Playing a game
- Doing a survey
- Joining online casinos
- Entering competitions
- And more…
Not all offers on 20 Cogs are free. Some you actually have to pay for, and one of the more common ones seems to be for various online gambling sites.
As an example you might be asked to make a £10 deposit with an online casino, but 20 Cogs will reimburse you £20, and so on.
When a cog on your dashboard is locked it’ll be a grey colour. Amber means a cog is in the process of approval pending. Once a cog turns green, you’ll be rewarded for that cog. That means you’ll earn some money.
Before completing any offers, be sure to read exactly what you need to do and the terms and conditions of each offer.
Not only do you need to do this to successfully complete the offer, but you also want to know exactly what you’re getting yourself into as well.
Some offers are free trials, but will become a paid deal after 30 days unless you remember to cancel the offer. You may decide you like the offer and are happy to pay, but if not, remember to cancel it before the 30 days are up or your credit card will start to be billed.
Other offers actually require you to remain a member on a certain site – perhaps a survey site – for at least 30 days before the offer is considered complete and you earn your cog.
The end goal is to complete all 20 cogs on your dashboard.
Is There Real Money To Be Made?
At the end of the day we all want to make money that’s useful, so what kind of cash is really up for grabs on the 20 Cogs platform?
Well, one thing is for sure. Compared to other rewards platforms and get-paid-to (GPT) sites out there, you can definitely earn more cash on 20 Cogs.
The amount varies. Some offers only pay £1. Others might be £5, £10, £20 and amounts in between.
It varies from cog to cog and offer to offer.
Don’t expect to be making enough to earn a wage out of this. Not even close. But it does look like a pretty cool way to make some fairly useful part-time cash on the side.
Some offers can take up to a month to get approved and credited, so the cash isn’t instant, either.
As well as earning the cash, you might even come across some offers and trials for things that you really like and snare some great deals in the process of earning with your cogs.

Getting Paid With 20 Cogs
This is where things get interesting.
While completing cogs along the way, you’ll see your account balance steadily growing. However, in order to be eligible for a payout, you must first complete ALL 20 cogs. You can’t just complete a few and ask for your money. You have to successfully green light all 20.
Some people have made complaints about this online, but 20 Cogs is quite clear that that’s how it works.
Just know going into this site that you have to complete 20 before you’ll see any money on the table.
Depending on what offers you decide to take up, your account balance at the end of 20 cogs could be as high as £700 or more.
To receive your payout, you have 2 options available:
- Direct deposit to a UK bank account
- PayPal
If you don’t live in the UK, or can’t open a UK bank account, then PayPal will be the only option you have available.
Keep Track of Trial Offers
It’s really important to keep track of any free trial offers you take up, because of the reason I mentioned earlier.
These trials will want your credit card details, and generally start to bill your card after 30 days if you don’t cancel the trial. You might decide to keep the offer and are happy to pay for it, but if not, you’ll want to cancel.
Therefore, keeping some sort of record stating what the trial is, how much it will cost if you do pay, and the exact date you started the trial is really important.
You don’t want to get caught out paying for something that you really don’t want.
What People Think of 20 Cogs
The general consensus online from 20 Cogs members is that the platform is an overall positive experience. People do make some money with it.
There are a few complaints out there, but you’ll get that with anything, no matter how good it is.
One complaint is that some have said they’ve completed a cog and it goes into pending status, but never reaches approval status so they can get paid what the cog is worth.
But overall, the word is that 20 Cogs is a good, solid platform.
Target Market
This is aimed at anyone wanting to make some extra cash in their spare time from home. No one will be under the illusion that they’ll be making big bucks from this, as the website clearly states that you won’t be.
It’s just a bit of fun and some part-time cash.
What I Like
- The site is legit and a little different to other GPT sites out there
- Everyone from across the world can join and participate
- They pay you in real cash
- The offers and tasks are very simple to complete
- The site is quite clear on how everything works
- They have an average rating of 8/10 on the Trustpilot site
- They are a joint venture with some major brands such as Amazon, Netflix and more
What I Don’t Like and Red Flags
- You have to complete all 20 cogs to get paid, and that might take a while
- Some offers don’t get approved for 30 days or more
- If you forget to cancel a free trial you’ll start getting billed for it
How Much Does 20 Cogs Cost?
It doesn’t cost a cent to actually join 20 Cogs. It’s totally free to become a member and start participating and earning.
That being said, there are some trial offers which you will be charged for after 30 days if they are not cancelled. Plus, some offers require you to make a deposit to complete the offer, such as online casinos. You get more than this deposit amount back though, once your cog is approved.
Is 20 Cogs a Scam Or Legit?
I actually quite like the 20 Cogs platform. It’s interesting and a little different. Plus the amount you can earn for completing tasks is definitely higher than other similar GPT sites.
There’s definitely no scam here at all. It’s totally legit.
It’s open to members from everywhere, and so long as you have a PayPal account (or can open one), you’ll have no problem receiving your earnings once all 20 cogs have been completed.
You’re not going to get rich with this, nor are you going to make a liveable income from it. It’s just a bit of spare cash that you can earn from home whenever you have some free time.
I think it’s worth giving it a go. It’s free to join, so there’s nothing to risk.
This Is How I Make Passive and Residual Income Online!
Like I said, you can make some coin with 20 Cogs, but if the goal is to make a liveable income online, then sites like this one won’t achieve that.
My favourite way to make really good money online is affiliate marketing. It’s how I earn the majority of my income. Multiple millions of people across the globe make great money with this very simple online business.
The trick to success is to get some training that shows you the right way to do it.
Everyone can do this, as it’s not that hard and costs hardly anything to get started and be up and running. People do it on the side for some extra cash, while others (like myself) make a really good living from it.
There’s no limit to how much you can earn and some marketers rake in the big bucks.
It’s true lifestyle freedom, working for yourself from home, enjoying both time and money freedom, with residual and passive income rolling in.
