~ Crowdology Surveys Review ~
Doing paid surveys for some extra money is just one way out of many options for making money online at home. Never before have there been so many opportunities, and opportunities that can be global. Realistically we can make money at any time of the night or day, and this also means passive income.
For quite a few years now I’ve been making a fulltime income online. It gives me the freedom of the laptop lifestyle, and now I’m here to help others achieve the same.
Whether it’s to make some extra cash, replace the day job or start a business, it seems like more and more people every day are looking for something online to achieve their goals. And why not, with so many opportunities that didn’t exist a few short years ago?
We have to be cautious though, as all the world’s scam artists know this and devise schemes to suck people in and steal their money. You don’t want to end up being one of those unfortunates who gets conned by some shiny, too good to be true make money scheme.
I believe one of the best ways to find the good options and avoid those scams is by reading product reviews, just like this one here you’re reading now. I’m here to help people make legit money, and that’s why I research so many opportunities and write reviews on them.
Recently I came across the Crowdology paid survey site and thought I’d take a look at it and write up a review on it.
Let’s now see if Crowdology Surveys is worth your time or not.

What Is Crowdology Surveys About?
Crowdology is a paid survey platform that’s located in the United Kingdom and is run by a company called Redshift Research Ltd. These days there are literally hundreds of survey sites online that I personally know of, and there is a reason so many have been popping up all over the place in recent times.
Government departments, advertisers, businesses and various companies all require market research. Now they might need this data for the following purposes:
- Improving products and services
- Learning more about their customers’ shopping habits
- Improving return on investment for advertising spend
- Testing the market before a product launch
- And so on…
These companies don’t want to spend the time or manpower on trying to find an audience to complete market research surveys, so what they do is team up with places like Crowdology and co to find survey participants.
Paid survey sites exist to act as the role of middleman, linking the companies requiring the research, with people who are willing to fill out surveys for small rewards in return.
Crowdology claims you can earn as much as $10 for completing a single survey. Maybe they do pay that, but I’d say that rate is at the high end, and you wouldn’t be getting many surveys that pay that kind of cash.
Doing surveys is brain dead easy. Anyone can do them. It’s likely for this reason that they don’t pay very much for your time.

How Crowdology Surveys Really Works
It’s completely free to join the Crowdology platform. When you do, make sure you answer all the questions you are asked when completing your profile.
This is an important step, because much of this data is used to match you up with appropriate surveys. The more complete your profile info, the more surveys you are likely going to get.
Crowdology Surveys is also a global company, so people from all around the world can join.
Once your account is set up and you’ve confirmed your email address, the team at Crowdology will send you surveys when they become available.
In my experience, you tend to get given surveys in batches, then get nothing for a few days. If you want to do the surveys, don’t leave it too long after receiving the invite in your inbox, because they’ll only take so many participants per survey, so you might miss out if you delay for a day.
Also, as a general rule, the more often you refuse a survey, the less frequently you’ll be sent surveys to complete.
Most surveys are simply multiple choice questions, and on some occasions you might be required to watch a short video, which is usually a TV ad.
Crowdology claim the average length of time it takes to complete their surveys is between 5 and 10 minutes. Some surveys could be considerably longer, but those will pay higher rates as well. Between 5 and 10 minutes is the average according to them.
How Much Money Can You Make?
I’m assuming you want to try your hand at doing paid surveys because you’re looking to make some extra cash. So how much money can you realistically expect to make doing surveys for Crowdology?
Not much, is the honest answer. No survey sites pay much, and I’ve either been involved in or reviewed dozens of them. They all pay poorly.
I mentioned at the start of this review that Crowdology claim you can earn $10 for a single survey, but during my research I haven’t been able to find anyone who has made that kind of money. It probably happens once in a while, but the survey might run for 2 hours as well.
The average seems to be anywhere from around 50 cents for the short surveys, and up to about $3 for the longer ones.
That’s pretty standard in this industry, maybe a little better.

Getting Paid By Crowdology
The really good thing about the Crowdology platform is they pay out rewards in real cash via PayPal. You do have the option of Amazon gift cards too if you like, as well as GCodes.
For UK residents, the payment threshold you need to reach to request a cash out is only £4. For everyone located outside the UK shores the threshold is set at $10.
It’s good that the payment thresholds are not set too high. Be wary of any survey sites that set them at $50 or more, because generally those sites are scams.
Crowdology is all on the level though.
Some Negatives About Paid Surveys
I’ve done quite a few surveys on various sites over the years (although I rarely bother these days). I had some common issues with just about all the sites, and if you do some research on complaints about surveys, you’ll find everyone says pretty much the same stuff.
By far and away the most common gripe is the small amount you get paid for your valuable time. When the goal is making some money, doing surveys is a really poor trade off.
Fairly often you’ll find yourself getting screened out of surveys during the qualifying question phase. This can be frustrating, because you don’t get paid anything for the time you wasted answering all the screening questions. All survey sites have these screening questions before each survey.
At times you’ll be halfway through a survey and it’ll encounter an error. You can’t complete the survey and you end up getting paid nothing. Again, this is frustrating.
Although the payment thresholds on Crowdology are set pretty low, if you don’t receive many surveys, it can still take a while to reach the limit and get paid. And even after requesting a cash out, there will still be a processing delay before you actually receive the money.
Target Market
Paid survey platforms such as Crowdology Surveys target people looking to make some coin in their spare time. Surveys are not a career move, and they won’t even generate enough money to be considered a steady part-time income.
They can be a good way to make your first dollars online so you know it’s possible, but are not a long term money making strategy.
What I Like
- Crowdology is totally legit and it’s global, not restricted to UK residents alone
- They pay out in real cash via PayPal
- The payment thresholds are set low, which is a good thing
- There is no cost to join the platform
- The pay rates in exchange for your time might be slightly more than some other survey sites
What I Don’t Like and Red Flags
- Surveys will never make you much money and are a really bad trade off for your precious time
- You won’t actually get very many surveys to complete
- A lot of the surveys are on the short side, and therefore don’t pay much at all to complete
- There’s the annoying thing where you get screened out of surveys and waste your time
How Much Does Crowdology Surveys Cost To Join?
There’s absolutely no charge to join the Crowdology Surveys platform, nor should there ever be. If you come across a survey platform that does try to charge a joining fee, avoid it like the plague because it’ll be a scam.
Is Crowdology Surveys a Scam Or Legit?
Crowdology is a totally legit and well respected paid survey platform that’s quite popular the world over.
There’s nothing wrong with the site at all, and as far as surveys go, they pay reasonable.
You’ll never make much from surveys though, so if you want to make some decent, consistent cash, then you’ll need to do something else.
This Is Loads Better Than Doing Surveys!
Surveys never will pay very much. That’s okay I guess if you’re not seriously looking to make money with them, but if you do want to make some decent cash, then give Crowdology a miss.
A far better alternative is to do what I do to make money online, which is affiliate marketing.
For myself it’s my fulltime money maker online from home, yet there’s no way I work fulltime on it. If you follow along to some awesome training that shows you how to do it right, it’s seriously not all that hard.
Let’s list just a handful of the many advantages of being an affiliate marketer:
- Your money making potential is unlimited
- All you need to get going is the internet and a computer
- You don’t really need any capital and running costs are minimal
- You’ll build up a number of sources of income
- Affiliates don’t buy and sell products, so there’s no real sales involved
- You get to be your own boss and work at home
The list above offers just a few key points.
Many online marketers use it as a way to make extra cash on the side to supplement their incomes. I like doing it fulltime, not just for the money, but for the lifestyle this online gig gives me. I love the freedom of it all.
For me, it’s all about being able to live the laptop lifestyle, as there’s nothing better.
