Is Yoli a scam MLM or not? That’s a question and statement I’ve seen a lot in my research about this MLM company that delivers products in the saturated health and Wellness niche. Some people say it’s great while others say the opposite. So what’s the real truth?

Intro
There are so many multi level marketing and network marketing companies around these days. They seem to be almost as popular as regular retailers. Everywhere you look there seems to be another one offering products with some supposed new edge.
Yoli came to my attention because I kept seeing mentions of it on social media, but opinions were very mixed. I made the decision to research it and write a review on what I discovered.
Much of my Laptop Freedom Living website is focused on reviews of training platforms that teach people how to make money online, and make money schemes and programs. The reason I focus on reviews is it helps us all to learn what’s hot, what’s average and what to avoid altogether.
Unfortunately the internet is home to a lot of scammers and dodgy make money online (MMO) schemes. These dodgy dealers are just out to make a quick buck by telling people what they want to hear. Reviews help us avoid these worthless schemes, so we can weed out the bad and locate the good stuff.
I’m really glad to see you here reading my Yoli review. It means you do your research first and are far less likely to ever become the unfortunate victim of a scam.

What Is Yoli?
Yoli is yet another MLM company operating in the super saturated health and wellness niche. I don’t know how many network companies these days are selling health, wellness and fitness products, but it’s a hell of a lot. I’ve literally seen 100s and it has to be the most common niche there is for MLM these days.
The Yoli company is a combination of health and diet products – they call themselves “the better body company” – and a business opportunity.
The company was founded in 2009 by Robby Fender, Corey Citron, Daren Falter, Bobby Jones and Michael Prichard.
The word “Yoli” means “to live” in the ancient Aztec language, so because the company is focused on wellness products, the founders decided this was a different, yet apt name for their network marketing business.
Another catch cry of this business is the claim they’ll help people change their lives physically, emotionally and financially.
The physical changes come via their health and wellness products. Emotionally, they manage this by offering a support network that helps build your self-confidence. Obviously the financial side is covered by getting involved in their business opportunity.
So I guess the question is, can Yoli live up to these claims and truly help people transform their lives on those 3 levels?

Yoli Products
This review will be more focused on the business side, but we’ll take a brief look at the products on offer so we understand what’s being sold here.
The products come in 4 main sections:
- Better Body System
- Transformation Kits
- Lifestyle Kits
- Single Products
Yoli has a pretty big range of products, so I’m not going to individually list them all here or explain what every product does. For more detailed information, simply go on over and check out their website.
What I will do is list what the alleged benefits of all the products are for easy reference:
- pH balancing
- Protein products for muscle mass
- Appetite suppressants
- Products to maintain and improve joint health
- Energy products
- Probiotics
- Immune system improvement
- Enzymes to enhance digestion
- And more…
You can either purchase the products individually, or save a bit of cash by buying kits that contain a good cross-section of the Yoli product range. These kits are also useful for those people getting involved in the Yoli business, as you can either use them yourself, or give some product away as examples to potential customers and those you are trying to recruit.
Although the products do tend to focus on weight loss, Yoli themselves say they are not focused solely on diet, but an overall state of health and wellbeing.
When you peruse the product range you’ll notice that the prices seem pretty excessive compared to similar products you might find in a store. The reason for this is the way Yoli and other MLM companies compensate their “workforce”.
There are so many commissions being paid down the line, that this cost needs to be incorporated into the product price, or no one would make any money – especially Yoli.
The Yoli Compensation Plan
I always find the compensation plans for MLM schemes pretty complicated and hard to follow. But generally there are always 2 ways to earn with any network marketing deal, and those are:
- Direct product sales
- Recruitment
To continually be eligible to earn with Yoli, you have to maintain an active member status, which is achieved by generating 50 PV of product every 4 weeks. You can do this by purchasing products for yourself, selling them to others, or a combination of the two.
This only gets you partial access to everything the Yoli compensation plan offers. To access everything, you need to be a “qualified” member, and you achieve this status by recruiting at least 2 other people into the business.
When it comes to straight up retail sales, you stand to earn a 20% commission on every product you sell, whether it’s a single product or a kit. Likewise, when you buy products for yourself or as gifts, you get them at a 20% discount off the retail price.
As far as recruiting and building downlines goes, this is where you stand the chance to make the most money, as you earn on the efforts of those you recruit, as well as make bonus levels and have a chance to advance up the Yoli ranks.

When it comes to building downlines, usually a company will either use the “binary” model or the “unilevel” model of downline structure.

The MLM Business Opportunity
I’ll be honest with you. I’m not a fan of the way MLM companies operate or how they compensate their workforce.
The reason I’m not a fan is the company gets all the advantages while the workers are stripped of many advantages. That’s why so many businesses opt for the MLM model to begin with, because everything is slanted in the company’s favour.
Let’s break it down a little so you see what I mean.
In the regular business world a company would have to pay wages for all the employees on its workforce. Yoli gets a workforce for free, only paying out money when sales are made or bonuses are earned.
It’s like having an army of sales reps out there doing all the selling and promoting, only they don’t get paid a wage or even a retainer.
This saves Yoli bucket loads of cash when it comes to paying workers, or having to pay for advertising and promotions. The distributors handle all of this on behalf of the company, and all for the promise of commissions and bonuses.
That’s one hell of a deal for Yoli, but not the workforce.
Also, MLM companies always try to sell the lifestyle dream of having your own business. The problem is, you never own your own business with MLM, the company does. They call all the shots. If it was truly your own business, you’d be able to sell it, but you can’t sell a network marketing distributorship.
There are far better and fairer ways to make money.

Is Yoli An Illegal Pyramid Scheme?
Many people accuse MLM companies of being illegal pyramid schemes, and some are borderline, but it’s not really a fair tag to label all network marketing companies.
Yes, they do operate on a pyramid style of compensation, but that doesn’t make them illegal pyramid schemes.
The definition of an illegal style of pyramid operation is where a company gets all of its money from recruiting new members. This type of company doesn’t offer products that have any value, or can be sold at a retail level. They rely solely on new investor money to pay the promised profits of current members.
Yoli does not operate this way. They have loads of real, tangible products for sale, so therefore cannot be classified as an illegal pyramid scheme.
Target Market
I think MLM appeals to people who are looking to start some sort of business where they don’t have to create products/services, or do all the setup. Companies like Yoli have already done all that, so new distributors can simply buy in and hit the ground running.
The downside is that you don’t really have your own business, and making money in this fashion is so tough because you have to become a master recruiter to really get anywhere.
They make it sound really easy, but in reality the opposite is true.

- The company has been going since 2009
- They have an extensive range of products
- It’s possible to make money if you can recruit like crazy
What I Don’t Like and Red Flags
- All the advantages go to the company
- Some 95% of people fail to ever make a profit with MLM
- The products are way over-priced and would be a tough sell
- Unless you can master recruiting, it’s almost impossible to make money with any network marketing scheme
- You never actually own your own business, the company owns everything
- Some people complain the products are useless
How Much Does Yoli Cost?
Okay, so what’s the cost of joining this MLM business venture?
There is a one off fee to join as a distributor, and that costs $39.95. After that you will need to pay a $20 annual renewal fee to remain eligible.
There is also a fee of $9.95 to cover the cost of hosting the replica website the company gives you, and you also need to buy or sell at least $70 in product every 4 weeks. These products are auto-shipped to you once a month whether you want them or not.
You see, when it comes to MLM, not only do the distributors do all the work, they also are the ones purchasing most of the products.
Hence, the workforce also becomes the primary customer base as well.
Is Yoli a Scam Or Legit?
I wouldn’t classify this as a scam in any way. There are real products on offer (over-priced products maybe), and there is a real business opportunity as well.
The problem lies in the way MLM is structured. Like I said earlier, all advantages go to the company, while distributors do nearly all the work for next to nothing.
Distributors also become the main product buyers, and unless you can become a master at recruiting, you seriously won’t make any money by joining this.
You’ll just spend a lot of time, energy and burn through your own cash trying to make a go of something where all the odds are stacked against you from the very beginning.
Yes, some people do really well with MLM, but they are the minority, not the majority.
These compensation plans are designed for the majority to be busy doing all the work, buying the company’s products and not really making much profit, because it’s these efforts that feed most of the money up to the people at the top.
That’s just how it works. Unless you can get near the top, you’re doomed when it comes to making a decent income. You’ll just work your butt off for nothing.
And not everyone can get to the top, or the pyramid compensation structure wouldn’t work anymore.
Yoli is okay, but if the goal is earning a good income, there are much better, easier, faster and less labour-intensive ways to achieve that goal.
