~ Isagenix Reviews ~

The networking marketing/MLM scene has been around for a long time, but more recently, the amount of companies choosing to use MLM to distribute their products has really skyrocketed. Everywhere you turn now there seems to be yet another network marketing opportunity.

The most popular (and most saturated) niche by far in the MLM world has to be health and wellness products, and in this regard, Isagenix doesn’t disappoint. It’s yet another company peddling pills and potions to promote enhanced health.

My website is all about helping people find legit and worthwhile ways to make money, especially online from home. The idea is to help my readers avoid any scams out there and find the good stuff that’s worthwhile doing.

It’s for this reason that I write so many product reviews on make money schemes, business opportunities and training platforms. Reviews are one of the best ways to discover what’s good and what to steer clear of.

There are just so many options to make money from home these days, and it’s all because of the internet. It’s allowed me to earn a comfortable living, all from home. This gives me the lifestyle freedom I’ve always craved, and I’m here to help others achieve the same.

MLM is not my thing, and I get into the reasons why further on in this review. Besides, MLM requires people to work in the real world, which ties you down and doesn’t allow you the same freedoms as earning an income entirely online.

Both online and offline, there are a lot of scams out there in the world of making money, so we always have to be on guard and alert so we avoid them.

Anyway, let’s now see if Isagenix is worth getting involved with or not.

What Is Isagenix About?

This MLM company is based in Arizona in the US, with the full name of Isagenix International, LLC.

Their main focus is on selling health and wellness products as well as personal care items, and distributing them through the network marketing method.

I have to say, the niche they’re in is so mega competitive and saturated, it’s not funny. I must have come across more than 100 MLM companies in this one niche alone.

Anyway, Isagenix has been around for quite a while now, having been founded and formed in 2002 by John Anderson, Kathy Coover and Jim Coover.

The company’s mission is simple: To help people “take control of their lives”.

The idea is that people can get healthy and look after themselves, while at the same time, having a chance to make money along the way.

In my experience, MLM has got to be one of the hardest ways on the planet to make good, consistent money. Most people don’t make anything at all.

Me, I much prefer affiliate marketing. It’s way more simplistic and brings me in a great passive income every single month. Click here to learn more about it.

The Isagenix Products

I won’t get full on into the Isagenix products, because this review is more about making money with Isagenix. We will take a snap shot of what’s available though, so we know what we’re dealing with.

The main focus with Isagenix is weight loss, and their 2 flagship products are their 9 Day and 30 Day Weight Loss System.

The 4 main categories of products available through Isagenix International are:

  1. Weight Loss
  2. Performance
  3. Vitality + Wellbeing
  4. Personal Care + Beauty

There are actually quite a few products under each category, and way too many to list here for this review. To check them out in more detail, simply visit their website.

The Weight Loss section includes loads of kits designed to achieve certain targets, and then there are stacks of products you can purchase individually.

It’s the same for the other 3 categories, lots of product kits as well as individual products.

The products are expensive though, which is very typical of MLM. As an example of price, an 8oz tube of body wash retails at nearly USD $30.

Why Are the Products So Expensive?

You’ll find that in almost every MLM company the prices of the products are quite high to mega expensive, compared to similar stuff out there on the market being sold by retailers.

So what’s the deal with that then?

You’ll be told it’s because their products are so much more superior to everything else out there, or that they contain some key ingredient that the competition doesn’t use. These are the 2 most common reasons used to justify the high prices.

These are not the reasons why prices are set at record levels, it’s because of the way these MLM companies compensate their members. With the downlines associated with network marketing teams, there is a whole host of people getting paid a commission each time a product is sold.

Everyone has to get their cut and so does the company.

This all adds up to a lot of money, so they have to hike the prices up high to cover the costs.

No one from the company will ever say this is the reason though, because then it just sounds like they’re ripping people off on price, for no reason other than to pay a whole bunch of commissions.

That’s just the truth of it.

The Isagenix Compensation Plan

As is the case with most MLM schemes, there are two principle ways to earn money with the business opportunity, and it’s the same with Isagenix:

  1. Sell products directly to customers
  2. Recruit, build sales teams and make residual commissions

The focus of Isagenix for marketing of their products by their members is word of mouth (network) marketing, as well as social media marketing.

Selling products directly to your family, friends, and anyone else you can get interested, will earn you anywhere from 10% to 25% commissions. Likewise, when you buy products for yourself, you get them at a discounted price.

Selling products is not the secret to success with MLM though. That comes with constant recruiting and building active sales teams. It’s the only way to get ahead. You see, you need to climb up the Isagenix ranks to have a chance of making decent money, and that can only be achieved by building downlines.

There are a few bonuses you can achieve between you and your team, and they include:

  • Product Introduction Bonuses
  • Team Bonuses
  • Executive Matching Team Bonuses
  • Other Incentives and Promotions

Anyway, the Isagenix International compensation plan works on the binary model, which is known to be much harder than other models. You’ll build 2 teams, the left leg and the right leg. I’m not sure how many levels deep you can earn on.

Isagenix Downlines

Let’s now look at the ranks you can achieve with this company:

  1. Associate
  2. Consultant
  3. Manager
  4. Director
  5. Executive
  6. Platinum
  7. Star Executive
  8. Isagenix Millionaire

These compensation plans can get confusing, so I’m not even going to attempt to explain it all here. For more information, check out the official Isagenix PDF.

I’ve also embedded their explainer video below.

Is There An Income Disclosure Statement?

The most recent income disclosure statement I could find for Isagenix is from 2015. I like to include a few details from these so you know what people are likely earning being a part of the company.

What I can tell you is that 85% of Isagenix distributors made $2000 or less during the 2015 year, and that’s not taking into account any business related expenses.

Only about 3% of members made what would be considered a liveable income, again not taking expenses into account.

Some Key Reasons Why I’m Not a Fan of MLM

Years ago I got involved in a number of MLM schemes. I’ve also researched and reviewed quite a few, plus know some people involved in MLM.

I’m really not a fan of the network marketing business model, because the way things are set up, it’s really grossly unfair to the members.

I’ll quickly run through some of the main points why I think MLM is really a poor business opportunity:

  • There’s a reason why so many companies opt for the MLM model of distribution, and that’s because it gives the company so many advantages. Unfortunately, at the same time, loads of benefits are stripped away from its workforce in the process. From the company’s perspective, it’s a smart business move for them.
  • Most MLM schemes are sold like get rich quick schemes. The way they manage to recruit is by filling everybody with hope and lots of sales hype that often never comes true for most.
  • It’s a proven statistic taken across all MLM schemes that around 95% of people who enter into network marketing systems fail to make money (profit).
  • Worldwide, the figure for people who make enough money with MLM to live on is less than 1%.
  • MLM companies don’t pay wages or retainers to the majority of their workforce, which is their distributors. The masses work only for the promise of bonuses and commissions, and are responsible for all their own business related expenses.
  • It’s also the army of distributors that do most of the company’s promotions and marketing, saving Isagenix another stack of cash.
  • I mentioned earlier that the only way to get somewhere with MLM is by recruiting. These companies are deliberately set up that way so the distributors grow the company. Not only does Isagenix then get more free workers, but these new members also pay membership fees and buy products.
  • This is the part I really don’t like. Most companies charge people a fee just so they then have the right to work for the company for nothing. Isagenix charge membership fees.
  • Another dream sold during the hype phase is that of owning your very own lucrative Isagenix business. That’s complete bullshit and a lie. No one owns a business with MLM. Only the company does. Everyone else is merely an unpaid sales rep for the company.
  • Possibly the most hated aspect about MLM for me is this one. Many network marketing companies, Isagenix included, have a rule where distributors must purchase a minimum amount of product every single month. If they don’t, they forfeit their right to earn commissions and bonuses. This means the workers also become the main customers, which sucks.

The list above illustrates some of the reasons why I really don’t the MLM way of doing business. It’s a terrible deal for distributors when you break it all down.

Is Isagenix a Pyramid Scheme?

Pyramid SchemeNearly every single MLM company will get accused of running a pyramid scheme somewhere along the line, simply because they use a pyramid compensation plan. That doesn’t mean they are operating illegally though.

Let’s see what an illegal pyramid scheme is.

These are known as naked schemes that rely only on recruitment to generate revenue, meaning everyone gets paid when new members join and pay membership fees. These naked pyramid operations don’t have any products, which is why they’re called “naked” pyramids.

Isagenix has stacks of real products, so they can’t be considered to be running an illegal pyramid scheme.

Target Market

I think the real appeal of MLM – apart from everyone getting excited by the sales hype – is the fact that everything is already set up and ready to go. There’s no need for anyone to build anything from scratch.

The other thing they lead people to believe is that they’ll be working on their own profitable business. But nobody gets to own a business with MLM. That’s all sales hype and fantasy to hook people in.

It’s all made to sound really easy, but in reality MLM is one of the hardest ways on the planet to make real money.

What I Do Like

  • Isagenix International has been around since 2002
  • Health and wellness and weight loss products are always in demand
  • It’s possible to make some decent money, if you are a master recruiter
  • Isagenix is a global opportunity

What I Don’t Like and Red Flags

  • The products are quite expensive
  • Many people claim the products don’t do anything
  • You have to purchase X amount of product every month to remain active
  • There is a joining fee to work for them for free
  • All the advantages go to the company and not the distributors
  • Nearly everybody fails to make a profit with MLM
  • Less than 1% of all people worldwide involved in MLM make a liveable income from it
  • Health and wellness is a super saturated niche, both inside and outside the MLM arena
  • No one owns their own business with MLM
  • If you can’t recruit, you will fail to get anywhere, it’s that simple

How Much Does It Cost To Join Isagenix?

To be eligible to earn as a rep of Isagenix, you have to pay a yearly membership fee of $29, but the mandatory spending doesn’t stop there.

You also need to buy a Starter Kit, which will likely cost you $100s. Plus, to remain as an active member who can earn, you are required to purchase about $150 worth of Isagenix products every single month.

See what I mean about these companies turning their workforce into their main customers?

I really hate that!

Is Isagenix a Scam or Legit?

There’s no scam here. It’s just a very typical MLM company operating in an over-saturated niche selling over-priced produced and an over-hyped business opportunity.

There’s nothing special about it that makes it stand out any more than any of the multitudes of others out there.

If you were to join, focus nearly all your efforts on recruiting or you’ll be wasting your time. You just won’t get anywhere.

I never recommend MLM as a good option for making money though, for the reasons I’ve stated throughout this review.

Here’s Something WAY Better Than MLM!

Lifestyle FreedomFor the vast majority of people who get involved in network marketing, they’ll end up spending more on necessary product purchases and “business” expenses than what they’ll actually make, which defeats the purpose of even doing it.

It really is a tough way to make some cash.

When you compare it to the simplicity and profitability of affiliate marketing, there really is no comparison. Affiliate marketing wins on every level over multi level marketing.

For starters, you don’t have to pay joining fees to earn as an affiliate. Recruiting is not necessary either to have a chance of making money. You also don’t have to buy and sell any products. You can get started with practically no money too.

If you have access to the internet and a computer, you can get started

One main way to build your affiliate marketing gig online is with your own website. And when you have a website, that becomes your own brand and your asset. You can later sell that website for a nice sum if you want, and that’s something that can’t really be done with MLM.

Many affiliates market as a side hustle. Others have even managed to establish lucrative empires. Many others like myself make a comfortable living from it. What I like the most is all the lifestyle freedom this gives me.

The easiest way to get started is to follow along to some really good training.

Affiliate marketing really isn’t very complex, and like I said, it’s way easier than MLM.
